Mountain Metric

The HVMM organizing committee, led by Janet Dickinson, has scheduled the event’s return for Saturday July 16, 2022.  The wheels are already in motion to conduct the event that in 2019 attracted over 200 road cycling enthusiasts from a seven-state region.  The full Mountain Metric Century ride covers nearly 75 miles.  The half-Century covers some 35 miles of scenic roads in Somerset County.

Event chair-person Janet Dickinson is focused on involving homeowners in hosting the event.  “We have enjoyed great volunteer support in our first three years, and we look forward to more key participation by homeowners for 2022. Please help spread the word!  Now that we have a date set, we will be getting underway with full scale planning”.  Planning for the event is being led by Janet Dickinson, Terry Eddy, and John McGrail.  If you would like more information, or wish to join the HVMM committee, please email  This email address is being protected from spambots. The event will once again help support the Western PA Special Olympics Winter Games.  Supporting the athletes in the Winter Games has proven beneficial because it’s a great cause, it helps attract sponsors and riders, and it advances our community’s profile in the region.
