Mount Davis HikeEnjoy the fall foliage on an intermediate level hike at Mount Davis. We will meet at the Mount Davis Picnic Area on October 17, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. The picnic area is located on Mount Davis Road and is equipped with picnic tables and pit toilets. This 7-mile hike will feature a visit to the highest point in Pennsylvania and a climb up the fire tower for a fantastic view of the fall colors. We will also visit a natural spring on our trip. We have planned a shorter loop for families with younger children. This alternative is around 3.5 miles long. This path avoids the steeper climbs and visits the highest point in Pennsylvania, the “shelter rocks,” and a natural spring. After the natural spring, parents/kids can return to the start on their own. Please register for this event at the link below. Please note: If you are using a GPS to find the Picnic Area, it is best to initially set your destination as Meyersdale. Once in Meyersdale, reset your destination for Mount Davis. This will help you avoid the unpaved roads in that area.
