Mt. Davis Hike

Join us on Sunday, Oct. 19 (weather permitting) for an outing to Mount Davis, the highest point in Pennsylvania!

We will meet at the Foundation parking lot at 10:00 and carpool or caravan for the 45-minute drive through lovely countryside and (we hope) lovely fall foliage.

At Mount Davis, you will be able to choose among three options: a 3-mile loop hike to the observation tower and back along High Point Trail, Shelter Rocks Trail and Shelter Rocks Road; a 2-mile out-and-back hike to the observation tower and back along High Point Trail; or a short drive up to the observation tower and back on a paved road. Since we will already be close to the highest point when we arrive at the parking lot, it’s not much of a climb to the observation tower. Trails are moderate in difficulty, with climbs and descents; you’ll need to watch out for rocks and tree roots.

Hikers of all ages are welcome. Trail snacks will be provided by the Social and Rec Committee. Wear sturdy, closed shoes and bring a full water bottle, sunscreen, insect repellent, and trekking poles if you like.

Please sign up on the Hidden Valley, so we know how many hikers to expect.
