Moonlight Snowshoe Hike

Bring the entire family for a moonlight snowshoe hike on Saturday, January 11th at 7:00 PM. If there's a lack of snow, we'll still do a moonlight hike on foot. We'll meet at the Mighty Oak Pavilion at Kooser State Park. The hike will take place on the cross country ski trail. It is clearly marked with blue diamonds and is around 3.5 miles in length. The hike can be modified for a shorter distance if needed. The terrain is flat and the path is smooth. If you don't have snowshoes, rentals are available at local ski rental shops. Laurel Hill State Park has snowshoes available to borrow (free of charge), but you must reserve them in advance. 

Please be sure to dress warmly in layers. Please bring trekking poles or a walking stick, a head lamp, and one piece of fire wood for a fire in the pavilion following the snowshoe hike. Please note: to avoid damaging the adjacent cross country ski trail, we ask that you refrain from bringing pets to this event. Light refreshments will be provided.
